What is the Cornucopia?

Introduction

This is a picture of a cornucopia.
Don't you ever notice the horn-shaped basket sitting on the dinner table on Thanksgiving? That is why I chose the topic "cornucopia." Three things that I found interesting about the cornucopia is that the the Latin word for "cornu" means "horn" and "copia" means "plenty," so "cornucopia" means "horn of plenty," the cornucopia serves a a symbol of abundance, and you can find the cornucopia on the state flag of Idaho and the coats of arms for Panama, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela. The cornucopia most commonly appears as a centerpiece at Thanksgiving.

My Opinion

I think that cornucopias are very beautiful and is festive to put on your dinner table. The article states,"The cornucopia is typically a hollow horn-shaped wicker basket filled with various seasonal fruits and vegetables." I got this information from wonderopolis.org. People would find the cornucopia interesting because the article from Wonderopolis states, "In one legend, the cornucopia was a source of endless food and drink, refilling itself with whatever its owner requested." The cornucopia is a symbol of abundance and can be found in any home on Thanksgiving.
